Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has questioned the Football Association‘s decision to appoint Thomas Tuchel as manager.

    The German is the third foreign manager in England’s management, after Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello, and given his success, ทางเข้า ufabet https://ufabet999.app Tuchel has great qualities, but Wenger believes the manager should be a national.

    “I just felt – if it happened – if I was the England manager and I was playing against France, I couldn’t sing the French national anthem,” Wenger told beIN Sports.

    “For me, I prefer a manager who is from that country. Why do the players have to be from that country and the manager is not? There are many judgments.”

    “I think he’s a great coach and the right choice, but he’s not English. But it’s already been appointe, so there’s nothing wrong with that.”

Wenger has no doubt Tuchel’s track record suggests he will make a success of his new role. But insists a major nation such as England should not be permitted to hire a foreign coach.

The former Arsenal manager was, himself, approached by the likes of Germany and England in the past but the prospect of managing a nation other than France never appealed to him.
